CHAMPAIGN, ill. (AP) — Illinois teach Bret Bielema has verified effective for COVID-19 and may pass over his group's game at No. 18 Iowa on Saturday.
Bielema pointed out Tuesday he become validated for the coronavirus Monday nighttime after developing mild indicators throughout the day.
"I'm disappointed that I are usually not with our group this week after we commute to Iowa, but I'm grateful that I'm vaccinated and obtained the booster shot last week," he pointed out in a statement.
Bielema mentioned without elaborating that "via know-how" he can be "as existing as possible." Assistant head teach George McDonald should be in charge all the way through Bielema's absence. Bielema mentioned he hoped to come back to the crew next week.
Athletic director Josh Whitman mentioned the athletic department medical staff became monitoring the team and that precautions were taken to restrict a possible spread inside the application.
