almost four dozen inmates at Santa Rita penal complex in Alameda County have been put into quarantine after testing high quality for COVID-19, authorities mentioned.
exams have confirmed 46 inmates have the virus, Alameda County Sheriff's office spokesman Sgt. Ray Kelly stated. He added that the sheriff's workplace became aware of the outbreak on Monday nighttime.
yet another 10 individuals of the sheriff's office group of workers even have shrunk the virus.
Kelly talked about 37 of the forty six inmates with the virus do not have any symptoms.
"we now have been via this before," Kelly noted in a textual content Tuesday morning. "at the height of COVID, we had one hundred ten instances and managed it well. we can do this once again."
The news came after the penitentiary did standard checking out in a housing unit on the detention center.
detention center personnel are working with the Alameda County department of Public health to cope with the outbreak.
