And it begins with requiring the COVID-19 vaccine for all participants and team of workers.
The Democrat-managed condo voted 131-28 on Thursday to require COVID-19 vaccinations for all representatives, officers, and personnel with a view to physically work in the State condominium, as part of a bigger 4-phase reopening plan, despite grumblings from some Republicans.
"Vaccines work," residence Speaker Ron Mariano tweeted Friday morning after the vote.
"they are the most advantageous way to cut back transmission and prevent extreme disease and dying," Mariano wrote. "As public servants, we should be main through example — and getting as many individuals as viable vaccinated. Requiring vaccinations for all and sundry in the condominium is a quintessential first step toward reopening."
The state Senate adopted equivalent suggestions last month, following strategies from its own reopening working community.
